Celebrate The Thunderbirds’ 52nd year Preserving American Indian Culture at the 37th Annual Grand Mid-Summer Pow Wow at Queens County Farm Museum 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Floral Park, NY 11004-1129 (718) 347-FARM starting 5-10pm on Friday July 25, 2014 through Sunday July 27,2014 at about 5pm.

New York City ‘s oldest and largest powwow will feature three days of inter-tribal Native American dance competitions to which the public is invited. Over 40 Indian nations are represented at this spectacular event held in the apple orchard on the farm grounds. A large selection of quality Native American art, crafts, jewelry and foods are available. Hoop Dancers and other specials and Sunset Lighting of the Bonfire.

Admission: Adults $11.00 (all weekend pass $15.00), children: $5.00 (age 12 and under) (all weekend pass $7.00). Proceeds go to Thunderbird American Indian Dancers Scholarship Fund and Queens County Farm Education Fund. Everyone who loves and respects this family event is welcome. Annual, Traditional, Contest Powwow with Specials.

DANCER REGISTRATION: Friday 5-7pm, Saturday 10am – 1pm. Contest points will be given for Friday night participation. Contest dancers must register by Saturday 1 pm.

1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $100
Young Men and Young Women (8-15) 1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50
Tiny Tots (7 and under): 1st $50, 2nd $35, 3rd $20

By Car: Grand Central Parkway to Exit 24 South (Little Neck Parkway) or Long Island Expressway (495) to Exit 32 South, to Farm Entrance Gate. Free Parking available at the Farm.

Subway/Bus: E or F Train to Union Turnpike/Kew Gardens station. Transfer to eastbound Q46 bus to Little Neck Parkway. Walk 3 blocks north to Farm Entrance Gate.

Long Island Railroad: To Floral Park or Little Neck Station, where car service is available.
