  1. I am coming with a group of boy scouts on saturday and want to know what is proper to wear as attire. i will be in my uniform but it comes with shorts, pants or skirt. it will be hot and shorts or skirt would be cooler but pants or skirt would be more respectful. skirt is really split coulottes or long wide legged shorts that lookes like skirt. i will have a shawl in my daypack if the group is asked to join in the powwow put only if asked. i am not indian but i wish to respect your customs and culture.

  2. The day will be lovely, hot and long..dress as cool as comfotable. Just being there and showing love will be respectful enough. All the museams will be open so you can cool off, but Tahlequah and Cherokees are just like everybody else…we shop at Walmart and love to stay cool, too ! We also shop at fine stores, but tonight and this weekend, we will don our finest, and sweat all night to show respect thru dance to Chief John Ross and all the others who walked to Tahlequah in the hot weather, some barefoot, and began this government for our people. Thank you for your respect. Welcome to the Scouts and yourself…Wado, Sincerely, Rebecca Smith Cheif John Ross Great Great Great Great Grand-daughter
