Aditional Information:

At this time we are doing a gathering NOT a powwow. We are trying to find free drummers, dancers, singers, and all interested in adding to our gather experince. We have several newbies as well as young. Anyone that would be interested in sharing your talent with us we will greatly accept this knowledge.

We welcome vendors.

I am a newbie and would love to have a great gathering to see more of our heritage. I’m trying to instill my missing heritage into my children’s lives as well as to show our community our heritage. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN! We are eager to learn. WADO.

P.S. We will also have a gathering Sept. 14-15, 2013. If you can help with either please let me know. WADO

  3. my husband and I are interested in helping you. I do have one question first. As I grewup on powwow and stompdances. I can help you learn to bead make dance regalia like nobodies business. I only have one problem with newbies, I was taught women don’t drum at the big drum they can however be chorus girls not drummers as it is perversions to my understanding and teaching. The drum is the representation of a women and the drum stick is the male together they make beautiful music and that is why they say the rhytm of the drum is the vibration and the heart of the mother earth. The women pride should come from showing how she takes care of her family like the way they dress. How elaborate the can make their regalia. Then mens pride comes from being able to provide the material for her like hides, trading for beads so forth. Today still very much the same just is stead of trade it fiancés how much she is allowed to spend of material and so forth. Ladies also are set behind me at drum they support and lu lu when the spirit hits them. That is my only objection other than that I would absolutely love to help as I would like to get back to my roots.
