  1. Judith K. Prichard says:

I came last year for the first time, will be back this year. I have a Native stone, used by my Great Great Grandmother, a full blooded Cherokee, to wash clothes. It came from a spring in Kentucky, where Grandma used to wash clothes. My Dad also found a ball of Butter ! It was wrapped in cloth, and was still intact, after many generations, kept cold by the spring. My Grandfather was a stonemason. A road in Kentucky is named after him, ” Prichard’s Curve”. My father brought the stone to me, in 1981, when he visited the old homestead in Kentucky. I have loved it for all these years. However, after attending the Pow Wow last year, I decided the stone should be at peace, in the hands of true American Natives. So, if you are interested, please call me. p.s. My dad was a gunsmith, and met Chief Osceola, and that is how I met Judy Osceola.. funny story..

Hi. What a wonderful story! I’m not sure the people at the powwow will see this message. I recommend you contact Wanda Bowers at 954-444-9827 or Eugenia Osceola at 786-537-1905. They might be able to help you get the stone into the right hands.
