The Panokee Powwow celebrates September being set aside by Congress in 1962 as a state and federally recognized Native American Holiday.
A Native American PowWow is a celebration of heritage and traditions. It is a way for Native Americans to connect with each other while keeping their culture alive through dance, song and storytelling. There is a circle in most dances, representing the circle of unity, the cycle of life. Native American gatherings provide opportunities to educate non-natives about their culture and traditions. As with the sacred thread that runs through all of life, there are sacred traditions to be found in this coming together of people.
An Inter-Tribal Native American Pow-Wow is intended for all Native American Tribes to participate in, no matter what tribe affiliation you are from.

    • PowWow Calendar says:

Hi. Our site has ways to search on past and future Pow Wows & other Indian events. Sometimes people will see a Pow Wow that has already happen and ask us if there will be another one like it in this year. That helps us know to go looking to see if there will be another one. Sometimes we find that there will be and we can add that event. The historical information from a past Pow Wow will sometimes help other events with contact information to get help for their event. We have also started putting the year of the event in the title of the event to help people know what year that particular event happens. We feel this will help with any confusion that may arise. Thank you for your question.
