The Indigenous Commission, City of Flagstaff has planned the first Community Social Pow Wow on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

The Abalone Shell Mountain Kinship Gathering (pow wow) is FREE and open to the public.
The community pow wow will provide an Educational Opportunity at 9:30am, the Gourd Dance at 11am, and Grand Entry at 1:30pm.

There will be dance specials and social dancing! Head Gourd, Frankie Hoskie; Head Woman, Shante Daan Jensen; Head Man, James Arnold III.

In partnership with Flagstaff High School (FHS), this is a three-day event. FHS will start their contest powwow on Friday & Saturday, April 17-18. The students will oversee vendor opportunities for the three days. Fees apply for FHS pow wow and vendors.
