TAKE A WALK BACK IN TIME….1800’S TO EARLY 1900’S
What you would see on this farm during that era in time???
See many demonstrators; Civil War encampments from both sides and watch the battle; visit the chuck wagons and learn about their history; see and have pictures with military personnel walking amongst the crowd; watch and participate in Native American Dance styles; talk to demonstrators making reed baskets, pottery, fire starting, etc.; enjoy pictures with all the animals walking about; pony rides for the young ones (small fee); do some bird watching; learn about wildlife (cameras and binoculars welcome); Historic Home Tour includes the history of the McDonald family by two individuals, one of whom is an actual McDonald descendant. Enjoy the bluegrass music offered.
Ride in horse drawn carriage for a small fee (no cars back then!!!)
Various cuisines for every taste. Visit all types of vendor booths where you may purchase items.
Eight (8) generations of McDonalds lived on this land. One of the oldest serving in the Revolutionary War. This is the second largest Historic site in Hamilton County Tennessee. Come be a part of preserving this history with us.
