The Piscataway-Conoy community invites the public to attend a Pow Wow on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14, celebrating Native people, culture, traditions, music, dance, and community through a weekend of performances, food, and cultural gathering.
Held on land with deep historical significance to the Piscataway people, which is being returned to them, the Pow Wow marks the continuation of a longstanding tradition and welcomes Native and non-Native community members alike to experience Indigenous cultures through dance, drumming, storytelling, food, and art. The event’s drums and dancing will take place throughout the day.
WHEN:
Saturday, June 13, 2026: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday, June 14, 2026: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
WHERE: Piscataway Indian Museum and Cultural Center, 16816 Country Lane, Waldorf, MD 20601
SPECIAL PERFORMANCES INCLUDE: Pow Wow Head Staff, including the Head Man and Lady Dancer; Bolivian performers and dancers; Mayan/Aztec performers and dancers; Modern hoop dancing (blends traditional Native dance with contemporary techno-inspired music)
TICKETS: $10 (adults- 18 and older); $5 (children aged 7-17); free (children aged 6 and younger)
FOOD & VENDORS: Food vendors will be on-site throughout the event. Additional vendors will feature Native arts, crafts, jewelry, and cultural items.
