About the Redbird’s 28th Annual Blanket Drive and Mini Pow Wow 2023
December 2, 2023
11:00am – 3:00pm
This is a four hour mini powwow and a pure giving event.
We are seeking donations of new, warm, washable blankets, and the funds to ship them to Pine Ridge, South Dakota (specifically, to the White Plume family in Manderson, SD who will then distribute them as gifts, not charity).
We will choose head staff on site.
The northern drum Blue Star will be there along with the Redbird eagle staff.
All drums and dancers are welcome. Bear Springs may also be joining us.
Storytellers, flute players, bird singers are welcome. The public is welcome.
The event will take place rain or shine from 11 AM to 3 PM. It’s going to be interesting if it rains, because then we will be making music inside the library.
Like any other powwow, Grand Entry probably won’t happen until around noon because people typically come from long distances to join us for this little gathering.
If you can’t come but you’d like to donate, you can make a secure donation on our website (choose the Redbird powwow as the program you would like to donate to). We need money for shipping just as much as blankets. www.RedbirdsVisions.org
