I think the person who made the changes may be thinking of cars, and trucks passing by, day and night. thinking about what can clearly be seen both in the daytime, and at night.I’m not an expert at all, but this is just my thought on the subject. As far as someone being able to make changes without asking. That’s another story altogether!! I don’t think they can just do that without your permission unless you sold them the rights. Better check on that though!
