Join Discovery Park of America for a two-day celebration of Native American history, traditions, music and culture.
Friday, September 18
School & Education Day
9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Friday features educational sessions, storytelling, music, dance and cultural demonstrations, including performances by Arvel Bird, the Southside Drum Group and Quinto Sol Aztec Cultural Dance Group. A cornhusk doll-making workshop will also be offered from 2-4 p.m.
Saturday, September 19
Festival and Contest Powwow
10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Saturday will feature a traditional contest pow wow with Native American dancers, drumming, singing and cultural demonstrations.
Participant registration: 9-11:30 a.m.
Dance Session 1 Grand Entry: 12 p.m.
Session 1 ends: 3 p.m.
Break: 3-4 p.m.
Dance Session 2 Grand Entry: 4 p.m.
Session 2 ends: 7 p.m.
Additional Saturday activities include:
Native American vendors featuring handmade arts, crafts, jewelry, pottery and beadwork
Native American food vendors offering fry bread, Indian tacos and other foods
Storytelling and cultural demonstrations
Plains-style tipi encampment
Cornhusk doll-making
Blacksmithing demonstrations
Flute and musical performances
Living history and educational exhibits
The 2026 event has moved to the Great Lawn at Discovery Park of America to accommodate an expanded lineup of vendors, artists, performers and cultural programming.
Admission: The event is included with Discovery Park admission or membership. Native Americans presenting a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or another certificate of tribal affiliation will receive free admission.
School groups attending Friday receive free admission with advance registration.

Northern Host Drum: Young Buffalo Horse
Vendor information: Native American food and craft vendors are invited to participate. Vendor registration closes Tuesday, September 15.

Pow Wow Information
A Pow Wow is a Native American tradition that brings together many different tribes and communities. Pow Wows are cultural celebrations that include dancing, singing, socializing, crafts, arts, and food.
