About the 22nd Annual Brown University Annual Spring Thaw Pow Wow 2025
The 22nd Annual Brown University Spring Thaw Pow Wow is happening on April 12th, 2025 from 11am-5pm at the Pizzitola Sports Complex at 235 Hope St. Providence, RI 02912.
All are welcome to join the Native American Heritage Series, Natives at Brown, and the larger Native and Indigenous community at our event.
There will be music by three drum groups including Wičozani, Iron River, and Tall grass.
There will be contest specials held by our three head dancers, Nkeke Harris, Dinalyn Spears, and Albert Zamora such as Fancy Shawl, Otter’s Joy Youth Dance, and more.
There will be three students, Javin Felipe, Noah Martinez, and Ma’iingan Wolf Garvin co-emceeing for our emcee Justin Beatty.
Jonathan Perry will be our arena director and Leah Hopkins is our head judge for contest.
There will also be a variety of vendors and information booths selling handmade Native and Indigenous crafts or sharing local information.
Grand entry begins at 12pm noon and this event is free of admission and open to the public.
