Educational and Fun!  Please encourage your child’s school to attend.

Pow-Wow/NOW-CDC, Inc. is a Native American owned and operated company that has been in business for over 25 years. We sponsor Native American Cultural Exchange programs every year that allow teachers, students and others to interact with our population. We invite you and your school to participate this year. Programs begin at 9:00 A.M. Daily and cease by 1:30 P.M on Thursday, November 7 and Friday, November 8, 2019.

Students and teachers will be exposed to the following at our cultural exchanges:

  1. Native American Dancers from various Tribes. Students and teachers will be able to dance with these performers as well as interact with them on a one-on-one basis.

  2. Luis Salinas, Aztec Dancer.

  3. Native American Storytelling.

  4. Face painting (free but donations are accepted).

  5. Bow ‘N’ Arrow Demonstration. Students may try their skills for a small fee.

  6. Food (Navajo tacos, buffalo burgers, fry bread, buffalo stew, Indian corn soup, hot dogs, chips, Pepsi) will be available for $1 – $6. Students may also bring lunch. Please let us know if you and your students will bring lunch or purchase food from our concessionaire.

  7. Native Arts and Craft Demonstrators. Our demonstrators not only make their own crafts, but sell them as well. Vendors and crafts persons sell items such as turquoise jewelry, beadwork, paintings, books, moccasins, dream catchers, rugs, and t-shirts to name a few items.

  8. We provide each participant a very small free sampling of Native American food and drink.
