The Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama has announced plans for its 2026 Festival, inviting the public to join in a two-day celebration of culture, community, and tradition.
The festival will take place September 26–27, 2026, at 630 County Road 1281 in Falkville, Alabama. Grand Entry is scheduled for 12 p.m. each day, with activities continuing until 5 p.m.
Organizers promise a full weekend of storytelling, cultural demonstrations, craft booths, food vendors, children’s games, and traditional dancing. The event centers around the tribe’s annual festival, offering attendees an opportunity to experience Native traditions in a welcoming and educational environment.
Vic Ball will serve as Pow Wow Director, with Terry Light as Arena Director and Farron Weeks as Master of Ceremonies. Cadric Laird has been named Head Man, Dana Jackson will serve as Head Lady, and White Horse will provide the Drum Team.
Admission is free for children ages 0–6. Youth ages 7–14, seniors 65 and older, and military personnel will be admitted for $3. General admission for ages 15–64 is $5.
Festival organizers encourage families and community members from across the region to attend. “Public is invited” organizers emphasize, noting that the Festival is designed to celebrate heritage while fostering understanding and connection among all who attend.
